| El Castillo, on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, is truly a unique Dominican experience. You will be made to feel right at home here in this quiet North Coast town. Off the beaten path for most tourists who lack the spirit of a true adventurist but really quite colorful with it's blended population of "Gringos" and local Dominicans. You can walk the streets at night and feel perfectly safe. The streets sometimes become a little bit noisy at night in the true Latino style but you are invited to join right in! The local Dominicans will be happy to see you having a good time! Isabel Bay or more correctly known as Bahia Isabela is quite historic and is where Columbus first landed and built his settlement. Just down the street is a fine museum dedicated to the memory of this event. A growing number of "Gringos" are "discovering" this area once again!
